When we want to attain the infinite, vast spaces of our own inner, we must get rid of any heavy baggage that draws us down to earth. Gravity is something connected with the desire to receive for the self alone. The body is the expression of this desire. We must elevate our body consciousness as high as possible. The first step to this is the reduction of our habits of eating and drinking. Mostly we don't eat out of hunger or real need, but only because we need stimulation or because of habit. The first thing we must learn is to achieve an awareness of the real needs of the body. The body is the temple of the soul. When our body is heavy, our soul cannot rise.
There are people, of course, that work bodily hard and need more food than others, but most people in our society do jobs sitting most of the day. This means that we normally don't need 3–5 meals a day, but 1-2 would be absolutely sufficient. All the food we consume instantly will be processed into astral realms, which means that they will create thought energy. The quality and substance of our food will determine the quality of our thoughts. Light food will make us feel more at ease, but some people, of course, also need heavier foods to ground themselves more.
Fasting or simply leaving out certain meals is the first rung of the spiritual ladder. When we break with our eating habits, we have the power to change other habits as well. We will see a glowing aura around ourselves when we begin to get rid of all the heavy burdens we create for ourselves through simple eating too much. We should also get rid of any hard-alcoholic drinks. Some wine can let the soul shine, but too much will let it fall; it all depends on the amount. All can be a life elixir or a poison of death; it depends on how and when we use it.
Instead of following prefixed rules, we should attain a light of consciousness of how much and what to eat, so that we create an opening, where our mind and soul can ascend the latter's of the spiritual rung without being drawn down anymore by the heavy body consciousness, caused by simply eating too much and too heavy.
