People are lured to many cults or even Kabbalah courses, that promise them that they could get very fast abilities to control all their circumstances in their lives, that they could get billionaires in a few months etc. This sounds too good to be true, and it actually is. Mind over matter is real, it functions, but when one will approach the path of Kabbalah it's not about getting big results in a short-term. One who wants to serve God must undergo many tests in life, and in the beginning stages of the process it often seems as all one's prayers would be answered in the opposite direction. The reason therefore is, that God doesn't want us to become better Egyptians in the sense, that we could enslave and beat others in a more effective way as in the story where Moses saw the Egyptians beating his fellowmen.
In today's religion and the domain of the cult and the occult, we often find charismatic preachers that combine biblical teachings with teachings of modern psychology. And then they're trying to convince you, that you can use the authority of Jesus or whoever to make all the dreams of your greedy heart true. Or there are Kabbalah teachers that sell you high prized letter combinations, and when you would use them you could get rich and powerful, etc., but on the path of the real Kabbalah such short-term solutions won't work out.
First we must come to understand, that when we want to approach the spiritual world, we must leave our own exile and enslavement, and when we want to arrive at the promised land, which means to reach unity with God and absolute perfection, it means that we have to travel through a spiritual desert. Mostly, all the old orders of our lives break down, so that they will make place for a new order or harmony that from now on comes from the alignment with our own soul. We should avoid people that promise us that we can become very rich or that have just to meditate on some letter combinations and all will work out. Spirituality is a process that take up years or decades, or even several lifetimes, until we end up at our promised destination. It is always the test if we're willing to give up things for the spiritual purpose rather than accumulating material possessions through our spiritual work. God cannot be used as we intend it, but we can make ourselves as a vessel for the light of God. And to become a channel for God doesn't mean to count our material blessings, but we're willing to go 40 spiritual years through the desert. These 40 years could be 4 years in this life, or even 4 lifetimes, I myself don't care, I follow the guidance from the pillar of smoke, which is the force of God that can be only sensed at the very edge of our material world, and there in the desert I'm willing only to take the absolute necessity for my body, and someday, when I follow the instructions of Torah I'll enter the promised land, which means to bring both, spirituality and physicality to absolute perfection, but it won't work out as I'm intending, but as God has destined it for me.
