In our world man cannot do anything without receiving something in return. In the spiritual we don't expect something physical in return for our labors. In the spiritual giving itself is the reward, which means, that when I'm performing actions of bestowal, I immediately receive the divine influx through the evoking of the light of mercy (Chassadim). This means, that when I work in order to bestow and manage to annul myself complete in it, I begin to sense higher worlds while putting actions here in this world. And even, if I'm later receiving something physical in return, I must be thankful for it, and shouldn't come from a position, that I would have earned this reward. This is the meaning of, that the Gevurot (judgments/bitterness) become sweet on the pathway. Because in our world man is ready to suffer a lot of pain and efforts for a future reward. But when I'm working for the Creator of all things, even every labor brings myself immediately only contentment. Because one who works for the Creator is permanently in joy even while putting a lot of efforts in this world. And this can be compared with a jogger. Because often the exercises themselves become joyful when the brain produces Serotonin. And when I'm placing the yoke of heaven above myself, I'm constantly in joy and ecstasy.
