Mind Over Matter

Before the sin fall there was no real separation between mind and matter, but after Adam has sinned, the light of the world to come was concealed, and all that we now perceive normally is the world of our five senses. But before Adam's and Eve's two eyes were opened, there was another sight where Adam could perceive the universe from beginning to end. We all still possess those powers Adam once had before the fall, where he ruled over everything else in creation. Our purpose is even to ascend beyond the domain of the angels, which means that man has the power to influence the providence of God. And this is the true meaning, that one can ascend to the level of an Elohim, that he can even change the decrees of the supernal court. But this doesn't mean that we ourselves would be God the Almighty; we can ascend to a partnership with Hashem, which means that when we pray and desire, God will fulfill our requests, because of the paths of holiness we underwent. But those people who always proclaim, that they themselves would be God and that the universe will always have to obey their will instead of the will of Hashem will be just thrown against the walls. Humbleness is the first step to true wisdom - fear or awe of Hashem, because he is the ruler of all, and he can anytime take away all your blessings, but the humble ones, he will lift, while those full of pride he will lower.

We possess the power of mind over matter as soon as we create a resistance to our selfish desires. We begin to control our destiny as soon as we attain affinity to God in our attributes. In reality, we, with our egos, control nothing, but because our mind melts with the will of Hashem, it seems as though we are under control, because our mind from now on becomes like a part of God or a receiver, which from now on converts the signals from the upper world into images and intuitions produced by our brain. Our brain is destined for the experience of God. If we had measured the brainwaves of a Moses, we would have found out that he was using 100 percent of his brain. Our everyday consciousness blocks the flow of information from the upper world. It is like a dam that prevents the flow from the upper world from reaching our consciousness. The information is there, but concealed. As soon as we manage to tap in, we will experience that every one of our thoughts has the tendency to cause a chain of events in this world that will make all our wishes and dreams come true. But at the moment, we might still be far away from this realization, so we have to work in Torah and Mitzvot to get out of our own way. This means that not the actions or knowledge itself is the objective, but the goal is that we empty ourselves of all the conditioning our education and society have given us. We must learn to see the world through the eyes of a little child if we want to experience the spiritual world. We were once there in the very first years of this lifetime, but we forgot it because we became used to living only in a description of the world that others had given us. And so we have now to learn the description the Kabbalists provided to us, because it will open up our senses to a much vaster world. We could literally say that we don't see the forest for the trees, but we can adjust our perception and will see a much bigger world, comparable to a worm who digs a hole into the shell of a radish and then suddenly sees what really exists outside his familiar world.

Interesting. I would also be interested on topics about Magic. If we put our mind into it, can we fly or levitate, walk on water.
